Check out the new SISTA "Blog"

This is a relatively new, federally-funded program, developed to educate about HIV/AIDS. It was specifically designed to  target African American women and is being offered by the Atkins House at the York County Prison. (Other HIV/AIDS awareness programs will be offered to nonblack inmates.)

The SISTA Program consists of five sessions:

  • Ethnic and Gender Pride
  • HIV and AIDS Education
  • Assertiveness Skills Training
  • Behavioral Self-Management Instruction
  • Coping Skills

The sessions are being facilitated by Atkins House staff members, Jaceita Walker and Mary Dorm.
