
Atkins House Fact Sheet
Eighty-two percent of women who successfully complete the Atkins
House residential program do not re-offend. They become
self-supporting members of our community and lead healthy
law-abiding lives and rear their children to become law-abiding
adults. An average of 40 women per year complete the Atkins
House residential program.
All residents of Atkins House participate in community services
for an average of 65 hours per month.
Atkins House residents pay over $17,000 per year in court costs,
fines and restitution.
Atkins House has an extensive outreach program at York County
Prison.
We hold lifeskills classes twice each week throughout the year.
Approximately 20 women participate in each class.
We provide individual Drug and Alcohol Abuse counseling to
approximately 120 women per year at the York County prison.
We provide HIV/AIDS education groups once a week at York County
Prison.
Atkins House provides individual risk assessments and risk
behavior reduction counseling for approximately 80 clients who are
at a high risk of contracting HIV/AIDS.
Atkins House provides individual and group drug and alcohol
counseling for any woman offender or ex-offender on a sliding fee
scale. We see approximately 100 women per year in this program.
Atkins House provides mother/child counseling at no cost for
women offenders and their children on request.
Atkins House provides sexual abuse counseling for women offenders
at no charge upon request.
Atkins House residents and graduates speak to high risk area
youth about the dangers of drug use.
